untitled
It is a sombre moon
that greeted the coming dawn
shining wanly, pallid and lifeless
unwilling to face the day
and see what fate will bring.
it is a sombre tomorrow
that creep slowly in
as though unwilling
to drive yesterday away.
Strange then
for isn’t the light of tomorrow
suppose to bring hope?

What a deep and intriguing work of poetry , and the accompanying pic is truly awesome.Happy day from Jesse
ahhh, glad you like it.
I couldn’t even be bothered to pick a title…he he. The pic is one of the beautiful sample pictures I found on the pc and grind it through photoshop to make it look “sombre”… I guess it’s public domain. If it not, then if the owner contact me, I’ll take it off.
I just wrote this at the spur of the moment. it’s was dawn, i’ve been up the whole night, my head was pounding, so when I looked out the window and saw the sunrise, I was way too grouchy. I sat down, wrote the poem…lol
Ohhh…long reply. Anyway, Jesse, hope you’ll have a happy weekend.
Joe, u wrote this in the spur of the moment? WOW, am impressed… love the ending….
Yes, often the writing or poetry done on the spur of the moment is the best! As for the image, hey I am sure no one could ever complain, as you are using it in such a complimentary way. I wont ask why you were up all night, lolz, or why your head was pounding ! Dont forget that very Old People should rest and take it easy. I hope your heads better now, and no more Mister Grouchy.
Happy day further, Jesse
@Marzie thank you, thank you, thank you
.
@Jesse Ahh, so very true. But, sometime, when I wrote something on impulse, it doesn’t always turn out the way I wanted it to. I guess it depends on whether the muse is aound or not at the moment, eh.
And just so you’ll know, I’m way beyond old…I’m ancient!
Dont know why, but it reminds me of Lord of The Rings. Yes, all three of them. Hmmm..
I ‘m not sure I understand what you mean… I’ve read Lord of the Rings 3 times … I really can’t find the connection. Care to elaborate
Nice poem with matching pics!
Hi Chin. Thank you… tho the pic comes with Windows hehe. At least that’s something microsoft did right, eh
