Save Our Sumatran Rhinos - Now!

rhino_medium.gif

The Sumatran rhino is one of five known species of the rhinoceros family and is considered a Malaysian heritage, being the only rhino species found in Malaysia. It is also “the most seriously endangered species of large mammals in the world” with only an estimated 300 of them left in the world.

In January 2006, Honda initiated the Honda – WWF Rhino Rescue Project and pledged RM5,000,000 over a period of 5 years to save the Sumatran Rhino. The project marked the very first corporate sponsorship dedicated to the Sumatran Rhino.

Please, let us save our wondrous natural heritage from being extinct. I write this post as part of the nuffnang community effort to save this amazing animal.

If you want to help, to save our Sumatran Rhino, embed the Save the Rhinos logo on your blog, write about the Honda – WWF Rhino Rescue Project or support the initiative in whatever way you deem fit.

    Too many animals are headsing for extinction. I was lucky enough to see a rhino (different species) in Zimbabwe years ago when I lived in Malawi. I’ll blog about the Sumatran rhinos in the next week or so. I think we can all help to raise awareness.

    @Crafty Green Poet
    Thanks for dropping by. It’s true, so many animals are facing extinction. It’s just too sad. I could only see the rhino at the National Zoo, and it’s in such a bad condition. Well, this is only a little contribution on my part. Hope you can make greater wave. :)
    @kucau
    well, at the rate they’re going now, they may be gone even from the zoos. :sad:
    @NAFA
    Thanks. Well, every little help counts. :)
